    Exclamation "Skipping Comuter", Software Not compatible, and a whole bunch of other foolishness!

    Hello there...

    I have a rather annoying problem...which i found that a Windows XP user once had...and summed it up perfectly...

    "This is a bit of a minor problem, but a fairly annoying one.

    My computer occasionally skips. Basically, every once in a while, my computer freezes and unfreezes a couple of times consecutively for a couple of seconds. Just imagine a cd that would skip every few minutes or so. It's not really damaging anything, but it's really annoying, especially when I'm playing music from my computer.

    I just cleaned out all of my adware, so I don't think that's the problem. However, I did install a wireless network card at about the same time this problem started happening. Do you think that may be the reason?"

    A skipping computer.

    It seems that after a while of having the computer on...(well, not even a long ehile...maybe 15 minutes of having the computer on), the computer starts to "skip"...or have little lapses of freezing...which is intolerably annoying.

    Also, here's another problem, my computer does not shut down...I have to turn it off without shutting it down...otherwise, nothing happens. I will commang the computer to shut down, and it will go inactive, but does nothing afterwards.

    And yet again, another problem (yay!)...When I try to install Macromedia products on my computer, the installation is never successful, giving me the error that this is the wrong operating system. If one was o go to the Macromedia site, one would clearly see that Windows 98 IS indeed a system requirement. Even more confusing, it works with my dad's laptop, which is also a wondows 98...

    Man, I need a freaking Mac....>_<;

    As to the skipping: in that other thread the solution was to update the drivers on the network card. Does this apply to your situation?

    As to shutdown try this:

    Windows 98 Second Edition Shutdown Supplement

    As to Macromedia: Do you have any version of this software installed?
    What exactly are you trying to install. You may need to remove previous components.

    Hope this helps
