    Safe Mode

My win98SE will only start in safe mode. It starts in safe mode every time I boot it. It will not run scan disk. I stopped everything that starts up using a start up program I got off a site I got from a tech here. It still boots only in safe mode. How do I repair this?

If you have your Win98SE disk, boot from that disk and just run setup. This will overwrite damaged files. Worst case is to Format and start over.

2 ways to do this. If you have the boot floppy that you should have made or had made for you by Win98Se, put that in and the Win98Se disk in the CD drive. This will offer the option of running setup or CD Support. The other option is setting up your Bios to boot from the CD before the HDD.

It will not boot using both cd and floppy. It will not enter setup pressing delete or f2. How do I get to the bios?

What is your Board maker? I will look up the Setup key.

When you open the case, the MB maker and model should be visible on the center or front edge.
