My Home system (WIndows 98 2nd Ed.) isn't allowing me to get to any of my software. Message I get before it shuts down is as follows:
"Explorer caused invalid page fault in module Exploreer.EXC@015F:0042b9bc
Registers: EAX = 00000008=15P"...etc. Your assistance is appreciated.

Start Windows in Safe Mode (do this by pressing F8 repeatedly immediately when the 'Starting Windows 98' message appears at the bottom of the screen during the boot sequence.

Once the system has finished loading, click the Start Menu, then Run. Type SFC and click OK. When System File Checker (SFC) launches, choose the option to extract a file. Specify that you want to extract Explorer.exe and you may be prompted to insert the Windows 98 CDROM. Reboot once it has completed and see if the problem is resolved
