Friend of mine dedided to give me a computer. Its a Pentium II 300 mhz.
His son is at college and decided that he would download XP pro off of his laptop. So now the 30 days are up and its pretty worthless. I have the win 95 disk that it came with. I just have no clue on how to go backwards to at least get the computer usefull for the kids homework. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charles, note that if you want to buy any new applications for the PC, like the latest version of Encarta Encyclopaedia, for example, or even use an installation CD from an Internet Service Provider like BT Yahoo, you'll need Windows 98 or later. In any case, Windows 98 SE will give you a significantly more useful PC and you can still find it on the second-hand market at reasonable prices.
