When i try to switch on the computer it makes ticking noises and it gets as far as showing the name of the computer and then it gets stuck and doesn't do anything, please help don't know what's wrong with it, please reply!

Does it beep at you? If so how many beeps and in what sequence, ie:

long - short - short - long - short - short

Also:
The ticking sound may be your hard drive constantly 'seeking'

BIOS make - when the PC first starts up there will be a logo like:

AMI - AWARD - PHEONIX or some name

Please, please, please, tell me the beep sequence - If you don't I'm afraid I'm not going to continue this thread.
