    Exclamation Windows 95 BIG problem...

I just got a cheap Windows 95 computer, the monitor is a dell and the tower/rest is gateway (2000 series).

Last night I put a game on my computer and it works fine. But it took up all but 1/8 of my hard drive so I decided to use "Drivespace 3" - that program that compresses any drive you want. Well, it got done partway and said that they had to restart my computer. Then it defragmented and compressed my files which are all normal parts of the program as far as I know. After it was ALL done, a popup acame up that said that drivespace is done and that they found one corrupted file which was surprisingly a DRVSP3 file - I am guessing a DriveSpace3 File. Well, my mouse is stuck in the middle of the screen and nothing on my keyboard works. It is still not in Windows - this all pops up BEFORE windows starts. But before that the usual Gateway 2000 screen pops up with all of my copmputer info and a thing that says press F1 to setup, which works I just can't figure out what to do in there.

Sorry about posting this here... Thanks in advance for any replies(!!!!!).

Have you tried going into safe mode when the computer first starts up, hit F8 key. See if you can move around in there, you may not have mouse but keyboard should work. If you can get in you will have to see if you can uncompress the drive. If not you will probably have to reload windows.

    Thanks for your reply.

After I got on here and posted, I did some brainstorming and I decided to download a boot disk from bootdisk.com and try to start using that. It worked and free up my mouse so that I could click OK.

I recommend the boot disks on that website. That probably sounds weird - all boot disks will probably just do the same.
