Question Windows Media Player/ Powerburn DVD playback

My latest problem is with the Multimedia applications above.

I have recently experimented with downloading music tracks off the internet and use Windows Media player to listen to them. However, the playback is much to quick and listening to Bono & U2 is more akin to Pinky and Perky (if you remeber them.)

Similarly with the DVD player, when I play a film or a video the dialogue is way too fast.

What can I do to make sure the playback is at the right speed?

Many thanks for the MS tutorial in the process of which I have downloaded 'Windows Media Player' V9 having previously been using V7. The tutorial suggested that there is potentially a codec problem. However working with the newer version the tracks downloaded sound very much better, but they are still playing too fast. I was wondering if there were some 3rd party driver associated with the media player that is somehow to blame. This is because when I play CD's on media player they also play too fast. In the software for Windows 2000 I have a cd player built in (Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/CD Player). When I play my discs on this, the playback is fine.
