    Question monitor

I was wondering if anyone could help me, minor problem but don't want to make a mistaking purchasing a monitor. My 8 yr old has been given a P3 computer running windows 2000, printer, mouse & keyboard. But not a monitor, I need to know if a flat screen monitor will work with this computer or should I purchase a regular monitor for it. Any info would be appreciated.

Most monitors & computers are interchangable as the standard VGA plug is usually used.
What is the computer being used for?
If it's basically for internet surfing & "text" applications my suggestion would be to just get an inexpensive old CRT monitor.
If you're thinking about 3-D games or Video work then a larger flat screen might be nice; although you will probably have to purchase a Graphics Card as well in order to utilize the full potential of such a screen.

Hope this helps. My 2 cents

for the price of pc today you can upgrade to pentium 4 package that comes with a tft screen for less than £500 or $850 i would look at this option before upgrading
