    OE Loading Error?

When I go to load OE I get this error message (and it doesn't go away and eventually crashes my computer):

Msnmsgr has caused an error in <unknown>. Msnmsgr will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.

I turned off the OE option to load MSN; I turned off the MSN option to run in the background and I am still getting this problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make it go away?

Do you use MSN Messenger? If not remove it from Add/ Remove Programs.

Other options to stop it from starting:

In O.E. unclick "Contacts" in View/Layout. It's starting up to check
and see if any of your "Bud's" are on line.

Also: Go to Start>Run and type in MSCONFIG
    Select the STARTUP tab
    deselect MSNMSGR
    Click OK
    APPLY
    Then, reboot when prompted
That should stop Messenger from starting up. However, next time you use
Messenger it may very well reinsert itself into your startup menu.

There are also registry edits that will stop it from starting. Let us know if you are interested in that.

Also I see many cases where this error is caused by spyware.
You might want to follow all of Owen's instructions HERE once you have completed that post your log on the Spyware, Adware and Viruses board.

    Thanks Jephree.

    ^_^

    I appreciate the suggestions.

I finally just ended up searching forever and downloading a regedit file to take it off OE.

I will be happy to upload it if you think anyone else can use it.

Thanks again for the suggestions, and for answering my question.

I will also look into the spyware issue; Owen helped me with a trojan yesterday, but maybe I have something else.

    ^_^

    Thanks again!
