please help...am quite computer ignorant but on advice downloaded windows updates for my computer.since then have been unable to get in to it. it fails to initialise my modem...what can i do?????

Uninstall the new drivers you installed and install the older drivers.

If that don't work, come back and list your specs, i.e. operating system, modem type, r.a.m., monitor type, network type, your isp etc.
