Not a lot to go on here....

Try uninstalling and removing as much hardware as possible, until - hopefully it boots.

Check your HS - Fans etc for a possible OverHeating problem.

oh oh oh! I know, me me me...... when you say it hangs on the startup screen - have you given it an hour or so to do whatever it.. err... will (ok not the techiest of quotes) - I know this sounds odd, but I had my hair on the floor once with a 2k problem, and honestly I went away, came back and it was done.... dunno to this day what the problem was.

In my experience, I would EXPECT a PC with 64Mb RAM to take ages to boot!

4 years ago, I set up a test machine to beta test some software that my company had written - I wanted to see just how slow I could make a PC and still get it to run Windows 2000 and our software. I set up a 433MHz system with 64Mb RAM - a real 'bargain basement' model that wasn't even very good at running Windows 98. I thought that it wasn't booting 2000 properly but, as HippyWarlock said, after going out to lunch and coming back, it seemed to get there eventually every time!

If that doesn't help, then, as already suggested, take out the new wireless network card and try again.
