Hi, I hope I am doing this right.. thanks in adv for any help...When I am at a website and click on a link in that site to go somewhere else, a new window will open, but nothing downloads. If I click on a thumbnail, the picture will dwnload, but I cannot go to another website. The same thing happens when I read the threads here and try to click on the response #'s it will not change pages. Thanks sheltonb1944@awesomenet.net

Which web browser are you using? Internet Explorer 5.0? Internet Explorer 6.0?

Has this problem only just started happening?

Have you recently installed any new security software, e.g. anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware software just before the problem started?

I am using IE 6.0. 2. I started having this
problem about 2 weeks ago. 3. I have downloaded a popup blocker, and a
program that keeps people from changing my browser page without my
knowledge. I have tried to operate with these turned "off", but the problem
still exists.

It might be a security problem where it thinks it's unsafe to launch another site in a different window. The security settings for IE might have been increased by the two programs that you installed and would still have an effect even if those programs were disabled.

You could try selecting 'Reset Web Settings' on the Tools menu. This will put IE back to the default options. Note that this might undo any security updates though.
