It's not an easy task to know which you can safely disable, except for those which are obviously doing harm (trojans etc.) but all yours look genuine enough to me. So it comes down to you deciding which you can live without. Every PC has a different startup-list depending on what applications are installed. Generally speaking, I can tell you that you can disable OSA.EXE (Microsoft Office), FINDFAST.EXE (Microsoft FindFast), as neither of these are necessary. Also, if you don't actually use Nero InCD, then you can also disable INCD.EXE. The others you will have to experiment with. If they belong to an application, temporarily disable that startup item, restart Windows and see if it's adversely affected that application or if it triggers an error. If no problems occur, leave it disabled. It's amazing how many titles you install have an annoying habit of registering a startup component which isn't always essential. Trial and error is the only way to weed them out. Just leave the obviously essential system items alone, such as SYSTRAY.EXE and anything referring to your modem, antivirus, and firewall software.

Good advice I'll extend that a little further by saying that this is a tool for changing your display properties from the System Tray, which most people never use:

    Matrox Powerdesk ---C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PDesk.exe?Autolaunch

So you can get rid of that if you don't use it. This appears to be a "helper" for completing online surveys - if this isn't something you do a lot, you should probably get rid of this as it might even be spyware:

    webHancer Survey Companion ---"C:\Program Files\webHancer\Programs\whSurvey.exe"

I've never known anyone to launch a Quicktime video file from the System Tray so, unless you know that you often do this, then scrap this one from the list as well:

    Quick Time Task ---"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTTASK.EXE" -atboottime

    Thanks DJNafey,
that makes the list a bit shorter. The shorter the better.
Does anyone else have any advice.

Quite correct, this is spyware. Bundled with Kazaa and other applications.
