i use win98 os. the problem is i cant run regedit progm. the window opens but when i click on the menu error tone is heard.
i am not sure but the problem started after i installed a demo utility software
" registry mechanic". please help me to solve this prob.

I presume that you're doing this by going to the Start Menu > Run and typing regedit ?

Can you run regedt32 instead? It looks like File Manager rather than Windows Explorer so it's not quite as quick to use but it does all the same stuff.

If that works but you prefer Regedit, we'll see what we can come up with. Let us know
