Hi! I'm having trouble with not being able to run my scandisk. I always get the error message that there are programs running in the background.

There are 2 ways you can do this. You can run scandisk in safe mode or you can hit ctrl+alt+delete keys and end task on all programs except explorer and systray. You need to make sure your screensaver is set to none as well. When its finished reboot to get your other programs running again.
