Latetly I have been having windows problems: it all started with the following error at start up:

Windows protection Error, Please restart your system now.

Since than I have been able to get a clean install of windows and my video and sound drivers but any attempt to load other program have been met with frustration.

Have swapped cables, drives and memory.

Right now it is woking but I still get error such as the one below while trying to install powerdvd. This program has installed before without a hitch. upon retrying it, it proceeded smoothly

"The install shield engine (ikernel.exe) could not be installed

ikernel.exe could not be copied to C:\progam files\common files\installShield\Engine\6\Intel 32'"

The system also mention something about privelages.
