You can format your hard disk as many times as you want to.

Why do you want to go back to Windows 98? Personally, I love 98 and it took me a LONG time to be convinced that I needed to upgrade to 2000 ..... but it didn't take long after the upgrade to realise how much more stable Windows 2000 is and better at handling resources on PCs over 1GHz.

Anyway, the answer to your question is that, if you installed Windows 2000 on a formatted hard disk, then you cannot "downgrade" to Windows 98. There's nothing there for it to downgrade to.

If you had Windows 98 and then upgraded the existing Windows installation to Windows 2000, then there will only be an uninstall option if you chose the option to save the previous operating system. In fact, I've seen that on service pack installations, etc, but I'm not sure that option even exists on a Windows installation.

I can certainly tell you how to delete your Windows folder after booting from a floppy disk but why do you want to do that? Deleting your Windows folder on a Windows 2000 PC will NOT help you get Windows 98 installed on it!
