My screen keeps freezing for seconds at a time which is most annoying, then after a while it freezes altogether hence having to reboot. I had avirus a while ago and it was doing the same thing then do you think I have another?
Your help would be appreciated to try and stop me bouncing the dam computer on the floor.

Have you done a full virus scan with up-to-date anti-virus software?

If you don't have any anti-virus software and you use the Internet, you REALLY need to get some! My preferred anti-virus package is Norton Anti-Virus but, if you want a free copy in a hurry, download AVG Anti-Virus from www.grisoft.com - that's also excellent

have just run the grisoft download came up with the Trojan horse virus but every time I clicked send to Virus Vault it came up whatever file could not be removed also my time ran out will I have to run the download again?

Sounds like you downloaded a trial version of AVG Anti-Virus 7.0. You would be better off installing a fully-functional version of AVG Anti-Virus 6.0 Free Edition - you can get that here:

You'll probably need to uninstall the trial version first before you install the full free version.
