Hi, please i need some help. This last week my pc shuts down automatically and than restarts again. This happends sometimes in 5 min or in 30 min.
I have done virus scan's like noadware and yes i had a worm_opasefc and some other bugs. Well cand delete whit that programm or i have to buy it So i have tried spybot search and destroy and yes those bugs are gone. But still my pc keep rebooting it self. Pls. can some1 help im a bit of a noob on pc's. I have like 18 GB, 11,3 GB in use and 7.28 GB free. its a p3 model. Hope to get some info

If you use the Internet, you absolutely MUST have a fully functional up-to-date anti-virus program or, as you've found already, your PC will become infected with viruses and this could cause all sorts of unusual and annoying problems.

If you need a good free anti-virus program (which it sounds like you do), download AVG Anti-Virus 6.0 (freeware) from the manufacturer's web site at www.grisoft.com. I believe that all of their software downloads automatically contain the latest virus detection files, though you might need to double-check this by running the online update function after you've installed it.

Run a full virus scan on the whole hard disk(s) and get it to remove anything that it finds.

Let us know the results and whether you've still got the problem after that.

Thx. very good virus scan programm, it had found a Trojan Horse BackDoor.Rirl.B virus. Also it have removed it succes full. Doing a vcleaner in save modes now because some how it keep shutting it sefl down. Well not as many times as befor i think, but still. Cant it be that it change the settings or something. I read that, that worm_opa is inflicting the BIOS. I have removed that 2 but i dont know what damages it has made. Well i will do some tests today and when it's fixed i let you know. Also if you have any idea's?, well they are very welcome because im a noob on this and have been working on it for 2 day's now Thx. so far for the good info of that scan programm

Hmmmm it shut it's self still down and whit update's no virus found Im gonna get a break for 2 hours or so or i have no hear left on my head

Looks like i cant fixe it, the weird think is when i start up for a fresh day is shuts down in like 3min when i have done like 10 reboots i dont have the problem any more. But to leave the pc on for 24hours hmmm

That's interesting. Maybe there's a fault on the motherboard such as a dodgy capacitor or something that gets warmed up or charged up or something the more you use it so that, after a while, it gets more reliable.

That's a bit beyond my level of technical understanding but maybe there's someone on here who has an understanding of PCBs and stuff who could tell us whether that sounds possible?

Well if i start up and do direcly a game online there is also no problem but when i go to exlorer or just leave it on desktop it starts to reboot it self again. Also when i do defrag i first have to clean hard disk control because something keep writing things to my hard disk. When i have done that than i can do defrag. Never had that problem befor.

Boot up the PC at a time when you do not want to use it. When the Windows desktop loads, right-click the Task Scheduler icon in the system tray (at the bottom of the screen near the clock). When you right-click it, there should be an option to disable Task Scheduler - select it. Start Windows Explorer. Then leave the PC idle for a couple of hours.

Keep checking it every 15 minutes - if Windows Explorer is not on the screen, then it has rebooted since the last time you checked it.

If disabling Task Scheduler doesn't help, then run Scandisk using the 'Thorough' option. This will scan the drive for file errors and then it will scan every physical sector on the hard disk to ensure that there are no faulty bits. This will probably take a couple of hours.

Well im a bit of a pc noob Also im dutch and my pc is also in dutch. Is that Defrag (that programm whit those blocks)
Well i also found out some other stuff i think is very inportant.
First of all there wase still a W32noala.B MM worm in the system. I found that out whit the Noadaware scan. It wase at my Hkey-localsystem/software/microsoft/currentversion/run critical update.
The first thing i did was click on my computer go to troubleshooting tab
and disable system restore.
Than i removed the file also whit msn buddy list.
I than scan my pc again and there was nothing on it. Even my pc wase on for 30min or so. And now comes the real problem i think. I whanted to turn back the settings so i turnd off my pc but than came a warning sign. There are other users on the network are you sure you whant to turn it off. How can i stop that because i only saw that message just 1 time and direcly the system start to reboot it self in 5min or so.
Pls. do you have any idea. Do i have to change my ip? if so how?

Also when im working on pc on day or evening the shut down is there many times but when it's afther 24:00 (0:00 am next day) i dont have the problem than till like 7:00am. I think that is very strange
