can anyone tell me if registry cleaners are any good or are indeed worthwile

some are better than others, making them more worthwhile than others.

if you install & uninstall alot of programs, i think having a cleaner is a good idea.

there are some free ones' but they don't work as well as some that cost a little.

after 30 days Reg Supreme costs $12.95. it is the most comprehensive that i have used.

crap cleaner is a good overall cleaner (Free) but it doesnt find as much in the registry as Reg Supreme.

also (Free) is erunt/ntregopt wich is an "optimiser" rather than a cleaner per se.

most of these programs create back-ups before deletions ... just make sure they do, or back up your own by running regedit & export the registry to a back-up file
