I had this problem 8 months ago and eventually found a solution. Now, in the past week I received two e-mails from people who have the same problem. Unfortunately I don't remember how or where I got the solution. I know I didn't get it from the Avant web/forum site. The problem occurs after uninstalling the Avant Browser. If you try to open a link from your Favorites in the Windows Me Startup menu on the desk top. Instead of the web page opening the printer dialogue box opens. The only way to open a web page from a Favorites link is to open the IE Browser and use the Favorites list from the toolbar. I do remember the fix was a very simple one, just can't remember what it was.

When you receive errors like this one, it should be solved it you fix the association for the .url extension, used by bookmarks in the start menu.

To do this, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options, select "Programs", then click "Reset web settings" and select Apply | OK

If this shouldn't do the trick, you will need to change it manually (right click a .url file and select "Open With", and chose Internet Explorer as the program to open the file with.
