help finding power supply
i am looking for a power supply where the cables/connectors come out of the side instead of the back as the rear of my hard drives is less than an inch from the back of my power supply so the cables are butt up against each other and the cables work loose every few weeks.
anything 600w and above is fine.
thanks in advance

I am not a aware of any PSUs with the cables coming out of the side. Since many cases are barely wider than the width of a standard ATX form factor PSU (which is about 99% of the PSUs out there), I don't think you will find one. I suggest you look at some of the better modular PSUs from a reputable maker. Here's 27 from Newegg. The images are not the best but you may be able to pick a PSU where the cables are connected higher or lower than yours do now. Look at the dimensions too. The ATX Form Factor standard dictates pretty precise standards for voltages, connectors and mounting hole placement, but not PSU case dimensions. That's because all ATX PSUs must fit inside all standard (and larger) ATX cases. So PSU height and width is pretty standard but there's nothing that says how long (deep) the PSU case must be. Measure yours now and compare with other PSUs. Your current one may just be an usually long power supply - designed for a larger/deeper cases. You mention 600W "and above". If 600W will meet your needs, with enough headroom for any future hardware upgrades then I recommend you stick close to that to keep the length down. See my sticky, Power Supply Calculator for sizing up a new supply.
That said, hard drives are not very big (compared to optical drives) so it seems odd your PSU and drives are bumping in to each other. Is this a small case, or do you have several extra drives? Can you move your drive(s) to a different bay?
There are right-angle drive cables of various lengths. IDE and power cables are available too. There are other cable management options. If you have any flat ribbon cables, I suggest you replace all of them with round cables - which are much better for air flow anyway.
But if your devices are bumping into each other because you have extra drives, and you already have pretty good cable management and still not enough space, then it is time to start looking for a better case that meets your space and cooling requirements.

well i took a look at the link for the hard drives and cant find any where the cables wouldn't be against my hard drive cables.
i have got 2 hard drives that is the max for my case unless i convert a disk drive bay to hold 1 i am already using round cables its because ive got a very small case and the hard drives mount in a silly place it is a very badly designed case on the inside but ok on the outside.
i used the power calculator and it turns out im using a psu that isn't powerful enough i am using 600w but it recommends 725w oops.
it looks like im going to need a new case and psu.
i am very great-full for your help but guess ill have to do what i didn't want to.
