A friend of mine has a computer with a sata hard drive and one sata cd/cdr and another cd/cdr with a IDE cable. Both cd drives are being recognized as a hard drive. How can we correct this?

Have you checked the Device Manager and or Disk Management?

What happens when you insert a CD? Anything?

yes in My Computer when you put a cd in it you are asked if you want to format the drive and the icon is a hard drive icon not a cd drive icon. I havnt had a chance to look at it myself I will be looking at it next week.
