    Installing second hard drive

I was wondering if there is a limit to how much of hard drive you can install, 160g as opposed to 250g. I currently have a 2.4 ghz Athlon with the original drive of 60g, will my motherboard be able to handle a larger hard drive and if, so what is the limit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ive never heard of any caps on the amount of hardrive space your system can handle. not on newer systems at least. i think you should be fine but i would get a second opion.

Old motherboards do have limits. The first system I upgraded was a circa 98 machine that had a 60 gig limit, tho I found a PCI controller card from Maxtor that eliminated that limit.

You should be able to get a manual for your machine on-line if you don't have one on hand. Start Googling!

thanks jephree, appreciate the help, i figured there may be a limit although it should be rather high with a 2.5 g Athlon thats only about 4 months old.
