Angry Oh Hell the bluescreen of DEATH

Hi all, I have a problem Huston, I have just rebuilt one of my PC's or rather built only using the 8800 GTX graphics and a 700watt PSU all other items are new. The PC has a Asus P5Q DeLuxe MB, 2 new Samsung DVD/CD Rewriters, 4X 1TB HD's, 5 case fans, 8 gig of RAM and the CPU is a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz. I have been trying to download Windows 7 64 bit but as soon as I get to downloading the OS the dam thing blue screens. It is now giving me a a tick and a twitch in my right eye.If any one can give me some sugestions I would be VERY, VERY gratefull. Thanks.

    Nice build.

What is the source of the download?

What is the verbatim error message?

Have you checked the Event Viewer?

Hi jephree, problem solved, It was the CPU not seated properly, although the heat sink seemed firm the grease showed that only just over half was in full contact. I have temporary replaced the heat sink for a stock sink and have ordered a Zalman S9700L which will arrive this Friday, I will never trust one of those push clips again as it took hours to find the problem as the PC would run for about 20 min before crashing. I have now downloaded XP Pro 32 bit but will install Windows 7 64bit RTE this weekend. I tested the hard drives, checked and tested the RAM sticks, all the connections, graphics & sound card by putting them on this PC took hours. As the PC ran for so long it did not cross my mind that it was the CPU seating. Well problem solved now. Thanks for the reply.
