How is this for my first ever almost complete pc?

Yeah i know it sucks.. but hey this is what you can make with no money

    D-A-L Computer Hardware Scan Results

-I dont know why my computer, and everything else detects 2 cpus, but it only has 1-

Anyways... me and this.. have gone down a loong road. When it comes to this thing being thrown, to being shocked, frying, overpowering, overheating.

And my greatest creation yet.. the cpu is being cooled by my old laptop fan.

If i can find my ollllld post of when i first used a scan on this pc ull laugh at the changes.

    Looks like a decent system.

The double CPU is most likely a case of "hyperthreading".

    So how's it running?

Hmm. Well actually, It runs pretty good! Thanks to you [: You've helped me a lot.
All I need to do is get a new heat-sink, and were perfect! I don't know how much my random laptop fan will hold out.

Since the fan is so small and cant screw in, i gotta lay my computer against the floor on its side.

It runs around 40C-50C Just sitting, under a full load it goes to 70C-80C, Maybe even 60C.
But hey, its much better than my that heatsink that ran my OLD 1.60 ghz at 100C degrees under no load at all.

I guess its time to change my sig "Windows Media Player Crashing, Videos Lagging, CPU overheating, Heatsink Screaming Loud. Lagging"

To... Windows Media Player Instantly opening, Videos running smoothly, CPU doing great, Heatsink small and quiet, no lag [:

I do not suggest that you let your computer get above 70 c so no heavy loads. I'm surprised that it doesn't shut down on you as a safety precaution. If it hits 70 you should shut it off for at least half an hour. Your CPU is no good to you fried!!! Do you have any concept as to how hot that is? Electronics will mess up under intense heat. FYI 70C = 158F.

Arctic Cooling do an Alpine 7 series cooler for about £15 which is excellent... It might be worth getting that if you are running stock cooling.
I have one on a Conroe board with a P4 3.0GHZ HT and it runs about 35 idle, 50 max under load.
I also have the AMD version on my main machine - 30 ish under load, never exceeds 45 under load (athlon 64 xt 4400+)

They are very very quiet, cant reccomend them enough

Well, my old 1.6ghz was running at 100 degrees C and other than it being 1 degree from auto shutdown, it was actually doing fine, I even left it on -Thats when I was furious with my pc and wanted it dead-

But other than that it was fine.

Ill take that into action, by at least turning my pc off. Though it has been running fine at the temperatures, I guess im just "waiting for it to happen"

Thanks, Question, Is this a pop in heatsink? or one I have to screw down, because I had to remove the thing to screw down a heatsink, in order to install this other heatsink -which failed on me within a month- And now, its impossible to re-install the thing back without me superglueing it.

Umm... Each socket has a different style thingy, but for the 775 one I had, it just popped down into holes on the board, with no plastic thingy...
