No big difference in what I posted with an 8600 except an inferior graphics card.

As far as the other parts there would be no noticeable price change.

I listed the basics of a good "mid range" gamer.

If you require a "cheaper" setup then your games will always fall into a questionable range as to performance.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by "short name".

Also you will find no prices lower than Newegg especially with all their "deals".

You will not find those parts elsewhere for the same price.

yeah ... but i am still quite sure i am not buying online ( not cause of the price )
and by short name i mean if u look at the card name u will find it is

but when i am at the shop i will just say 9400 gt 1gb then we will start discussing ...

You don't "need" those exact products.

When I build a computer first off I go to Newegg.

Next I need a budget and a purpose for the computer.

In this case I received no budget but was given the impression that it was moderate and that the goal of the computer was gaming.

From that data I choose the parts I did. Many choices were based on the Newegg price and add-on deals.

If you have to pay $20 more for that same motherboard then a different one might work out better.

So on and so forth. Some of those Newegg deals were pretty amazing but again you will not find those prices on the local retail market.

If you want a brand guideline I'd suggest the following:

    PSU: Thermaltake or Enermax

    CPU: Intel Core Duo (minimum)

Graphics: NVIDIA / EVGA or XFX

    Motherboard: ASUS

    RAM: Kingston or Corsair

hey jeph i finally made the decision and went to the shop to buy exactly as you told me ... with the 9400 as video card ... however everything went well until i asked the guy about the cpu ... as you might already know i know nothing about CPU and turns out that there is core 2 duo and dual core ... now i know this is probably the dumbest question since the guy laughed when i asked him .. but whats the possible difference between those 2 considering games ??? because cure 2 duo must be more expensive for a reasom but since the guy laughed + i did not know which cpu to go for ... i left without buying anything ... so i really need to know which to buy and why considering to games ... thanks
