I have installed a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio car. I want to play music residing on my HDD through Hi Fi speakers.
Obviously I need an amp to power the speakers. Can anyone tell me what leads I need and how to connect a 2.1 or 5.1 speaker system from the card?
Would be grateful for some techy to put me right.

You will probably need a cable with 3.5mm mini-stereo on one end, and a pair (L + R) of RCA connectors on the other. You will come out of the Line Out for the card, and into the AUX of the amp. Check amp manual to be sure.

For your 2.1 or 5.1, that depends on the speakers, but you will use 3.5mm on the card side. It does not look like you can use your HiFi speakers and your computer speakers at the same time.
