New Desktop Build

Re: New Desktop Build
Well I am running out for a couple hours at the moment.
Will review your questions when I return.
-
There is nearly endless material to read on these questions. Just picking one article on the i7:
Intel Core i7 (Nehalem): Architecture By AMD? : Introduction - Review Tom's Hardware
I personally only consider Intel so I have no idea about AMD. The same goes for graphics as I only consider NVIDIA and not AMD/ATI.
Would you be happy with a Core Duo series? You very well might. Also that motherboard has 3 PCI_E slots and is really set up for SLi which again you do not need. It is nice that it is DDR3 but perhaps you'd be happy with DDR2 as well.
I will go back and choose some other settings just for comparison.
I am looking for a:

Now that looks more like what i would be better with, thank you for all your help mate, i think i will go ahead and get this machine.
I think i will add a nice sound card and speakers, a G15 keyboard and G9 mouse, and maybe better cooling and psu, will see how far i can stretch, once again thanks for all your help.

No problem.
I have the G15 which is nice.
I use the MX Revolution mouse which I think is great if you don't mind $100 for a mouse.
