    Anything wrong with less memory?

also with my intergrated card is on 128MB and it took 128MB of ram .

will th 1gb gfx card take 1GB of ram?

Integrated 'cards' chips take all their memory from the motherboard.

Graphics cards have their own memory although some older versions will share with the motherboard.

The cards you are looking at GForce 8 series all contain their own memory.

With your system you will probably see no benefit above 512MB but I'd definitely take 512 over 256.

    8600 w/ 512MB memory.

That is the best you can do and no reason not to.

Unless the price is out of reach.

I was trying to save some money by going towards the 8400 but if the 8600 series will benifit me most then i guess i will have to go that way

Well after rebate the 8600/512 is only $15 more than the 8400/512 and it is a much more powerful card.

Also last question what matters most when gaming.

    Graphics or CPU Speed?

Since my cpu is 1.8ghz and i wanted to play a game that "Recommends" say..

    2.0 GhZ or 2.5

and i met all other over requirements 512+RAM *SAY I HAVE 2GB OF IT* and more gfx card ram 128MB+ outof 512 i should have.

what would you say would happen.?

On "High-end" gaming computers the Graphics processor has become just as important if not more important than the CPU "speed" although this considers multi-cores at slower speeds.

Anyway your motherboard is not going to handle hardware like that.

So I would say you should meet the minimum requirements of CPU speed.

If you have to make a choice between a better CPU and a less better graphics card I'd say in your case the CPU is more important.

But at the same time you will not play many games with less than a GForce 8 or minimum GForce 7 graphics card.
