just installed new hard drive and now when I press the shift and @ key i get ( " ), and when I press the shift and pound sign key I get ( # ). Does anyone know why this is happening and any suggestions as to what I can do about it.

The OS region has been set to America, you need to change the regional setting to UK. What OS are you using? XP or Vista?

OK, open up the Control Panel

Select Regional and Language Options

Select the Languages Tab

Click on Details

On the Installed services tab you should have 2 setting s for the keyboard, I would remove the US keyboard, it will say something like the changes will take effect when you restart. Bobs your Uncle.

You could change all your other setting to UK, just have a look around, apart from that your keys should show the right thing now.
