    PC to TV

    Hi everyone.

I hope I'm in the correct place.

I am into woodwork, and on the Internet there are woodwork channels. I thought it would be better viewing on the TV.

Are there any recommendations on how to view from my PC on my TV?

    Many thanks.
    Gary.

Some models of nVidia 7900GS 512MB PCI-E have TV out. Does yours. That is all you need. Plus the video cable of course.

Setup would be via the nVidia Control Panel.

Thanks for your reply jephree. Sorry for the delay.

I have checked the card and it says TV-out. At the back there are three sockets.
The first one has the monitor pluged into it.
The second one has a 24 + 4 pin female socket.
The third is a round female socket.

Where would I be able to obtain the correct cable from, and what is it called?

I seem to have mislayed the information leaflet on the card.

    Thanks for your help.
    ATB Gary.

The round port is S Video. A cable should have come with the card. They are also available at any electronics store.

Of course your TV must have a corresponding port.

And S-Video is only video - that is, you will still need to get the audio from your computer to your TV - Your sound card may have a line-out for that purpose.

I would just like to thank you both for your help.

I have fitted a DVI-1 from my PC going to a HDMI onto my TV. As you say Digerati, I have no sound. But that's ok, I still have the PC speakers.

If your computer has both DVI and a D-Sub connection, you may be able view the output on both your computer monitor, and the TV.
