It appears to be an Intel board but it is so old that details are difficult to come by.

Can't really tell if the bords gonna be a Smart DEM Technology NX 6000 or a Computrend board. I'm kinda lost here.

How do you identify which number is the chipset number?

Gonna give it a rest again. Good night Jephree and Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

Update: SM following i430BX should be the identifacation of the motherboard manufacturer on the site http://www.wimsbios.com/awardnumbers.jsp which according to their table makes my board a Hope Vision or San Li or Superpower Motherboard. Will Delve into later.

    i430BX should be the chipset.

It is an old Intel chipset. But other manufacturers could have used it on their boards as well.

    No problem.

    See you later.

    Attachment 1520

    Attachment 1521

    Attachment 1522

Attachment 1523 These are pictures of the laptop jephree. I'm mainly showing these sdo you can see what kind of access points I'm dealing with The bottom shot showing the panel with 10 screws was the one I tried to remoive and chickened out when it felt like it wouldn't come out. May be a stuck o-ring for all I know but I'm not sure.

Warranty voided if sticker is damaged. Warranty ran out ages ago. Battery sticker is generic in different languages, sticker on top is windows product key. On the lid is a fancy one from Amrel.

Forgot to say on that little acces door with no screws its a ROD53900 with a bar code over thge top of it.

Well like you I'd be inclined to think that is the secret panel.

It may have a seal of some kind or perhaps simply a water proof compound of some sort which is acting as a seal.

Like removing a heatsink from a chip the thermal compound almost acts like a glue.

I remove stock fans from high end Graphics Cards in order to change them over to liquid cooling and removing the stock heatsink is always a chore. You really need a lot of force and you also need to forget that you are messing with $600 worth of electronics.

Which panel do you think could be the one. The little one with the bar code or the bigger one with all the screws. If the little one I'll be darned if I know how to remove it as there are no slot. tabs, or anything to show it can be removed. Thats why I made an attempt on the larger one with the screws.
