    Re: Rocky ll RT686 Laptop

Your're gonna love this. CPU Z says its SDRAM 128mb, 99.6 mhz , FSB DRAM 1.1, CAS # latency 3.0 clocks, RAS # to CAS # delay 3 clocks, RAS # precharge 3 clocks, DRAM idle timer 15 clocks. Thats all the report in Memory. SPD in CPU Z is blank on every catergory. Heck even Motherboard ID is blank. Nice try though and I can use the software on my other systems.

I found this tool in searching the question:

    http://www.heise.de/ct/ftp/ctspd.shtml

I have not rebooted my computer which the installation requires but anyway just to pass it on.

Do not know if the tool is in German (assumption) as well but the website is.

It was recommended in another English hardware forum.

Okay, I'll try it though everything like you said is in German. But you now those German guys are pretty sharp when it comes to anything mechanical.

You might want to forget it.

At least in my case it tells me my chipset is not found.

Don't know what else to suggest besides opening it up.

    Sorry.

Wellllllll, Loaded it, opened it, got a message saying 1 dimm slot empty or wrong dimm. Clicked OK and at least its in English but Every, I mean Every info block on their report was blank. I tried to click on the Dimm 1 slot to no avail, it wouldn't take it and it doesn't know the name brand of my RAM card.

Yeah, I guess your right although I was hoping some websurfing member with the same laptop will jump in and tell me everything I need to know. I am kinda freaked about opening it as if Everest, Crucial, and now the Germans from MIT can't recognize what stick it is I figure when I open it up the one thats in there is gonna be soldered in and there wont be any info on top of stick. Amrel is pretty cagey when it comes to their equipment as I'm finding out. Went to the English page of that German website but it wasn't much help either.

Do you think if I did a DAL Hardware Scan on the Amrel Laptop that maybe your site will give me some info on the RAM Stick?
