So, if I run two stick of dual channel ram will that be too much or just go with single sticks of ram=2.?

Case is a mid tower.
One hard drive will be formatted and partitioned (or a single partition) when you install Windows.
The second needs to be formatted and partitioned (or a single partition) before it can be used.
The dual channel comes from the motherboard.
You want two exact sticks or one pair.
If you use two pair you might get 3gb of use.
That is a 32 bit limit.
Most games will never want more than 2gb.
Can you tell if that MB is dual channel? If so, when you buy dual channel memory that is, one stick with 2 modules on it making it dual? How do I find the spec's on that MB? A friend helped me with picking out what I posted like, case, mb..et.

The motherboard is dual channel.
RAM is RAM (basically speaking). Two identical "sticks" of RAM in the proper slots (usually alternating/ color coded) will run as dual channel.
Thanks,
Sorry, but I guess I don't understand the dual channel thing. Can you post some dual channel memory? Are you talking about the color thing with the MB?
Sorry bro I am new to building computers. I really appericate your advice and help btw.
That memory you posted was dual channel 2 X 2GB = 4GB
What you want is 2 X 1GB = 2GB
You can use the 2 X 2 but with a 32 bit OS it will only use @ 3 GB
Dual channel is dictated by the motherboard. Most have color coded slots. If you only use two "sticks" you insert into the same color. This is usually alternating slots such as 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 etc.
The RAM itself (any RAM pair) can be dual channel. As long as there is a matched pair of RAM a Dual Channel motherboard will run it as dual channel.
Okay, so,...lol...Its better for me to use single sticks of DDR2 and put them in slot 1 and 3 for 2 and 4, correct?
Yes. But it is best to get a matching pair.

RAM is very important and I would not go "cheap" on it.
Just a personal suggestion:
