Computer failure after upgrading
I just installed a new motherboard (Foxconn 6150bk8mc-krshn2 939) with a new cpu (amd/a64 x2 4200+ 2.2ghz 939) and video card (vga sapphire 1000195l x1650 512mb) into my hp case. Since doing this, my computer beeps (no apparent code, just beeping regularly) on startup and does not display anything on the monitor. I am reasonably certain I plugged everything in correctly, but I don't know what could be causing the problem and how I can fix it. A couple theories - the ram chips I bought weren't compatible so I used my old ram chips. They fit in and appear to go in all the way, but the latches didn't appear to fix in correctly to the ram chips making me think they aren't seated properly. I've tried repeatedly and they appear to be in all the way. Also, if the monitor isn't coming up, could this be a problem with the video card? It fits in well, but seems a little unstable in its pci-e slot. I've also tried to reseat it to the best of my ability. Is there any cords I could have put in incorrectly? There were no directions in the motherboard box so I kind of winged it. Thanks in advance.

Most likely a RAM problem.
If the clips don't snap on your old RAM that is definitely not compatible.
As to your new RAM does it meet the specs of the board?
Dual channel, unbuffered, 2.5V DDR400, (4) 184-pin DIMM sockets

Thank you for your reply. Would the RAM cause the problem that I see? I see that I need 184 pin RAM, but that looks like what the old RAM chips that I put in are. What do I need to look at to ensure compatibility?
-
Yes. Constant beeping and no response would suspect the RAM.
The new type is 240 pin but it would not fit into 184 slots. There are key notches on the sticks.
That beings said Dell could have been using proprietary RAM that only fit its own motherboards as to the clip mechanisms.
You want Dual channel, unbuffered, 2.5V DDR400, (4) 184-pin DIMMs
Try only one stick and see what happens. If you have two sticks in dual channel they will be in color coded slots.

I'm pretty sure the RAM I'm trying now is 2 sticks of

512MB DDR PC3200 CL3. I'm not too sure, but it looks like that should be compatible. Am I missing something? I really don't understand what I should be looking for in a replacement.

RAM is one of the most tricky things to get right. Lack of specs don't help either.
I see several issues here. First that RAM you linked is refurbished i.e. used or somehow "not new".
Next it is ECC where as you board calls for unbuffered. This could be an issue.
The speeds should be OK.
Did you try just one stick?
-
I did try one stick and I had the same problems. Is the ram that I tried from my previous motherboard incompatible? I plan on going to Best Buy tomorrow morning and getting some replacement ram, but want to ensure that I solve the right problem, and that I get the right ram this time so I solve it correctly.

I don't know what you had previously.
If it will not clip into the slots then it is not compatible.
Again this is a tedious issue. Foxconn does not list RAM.
Google is a fine tool:

I bought some new ram today and my computer began working. I did have to reactivate windows, install some new drivers for the motherboard and video card. Now I'm having a new problem. It looks like I don't have any network connections, despite having an ethernet plugin on the back of the computer. Did I hook this up wrong or did I simply neglect to see if the motherboard supports a cable internet connection?

Scratch that. I just missed one of the driver sets on the motherboard. Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
