Do you have the RAM in alternating slots?

Also that motherboard would handle a much faster hard drive.

Yours is ATA 100 but that board is capable of SATA II drives.

I have 4 RAM slots. 2 white, 2 black. both my 1 gig sticks r in same color...does it matter which one its in??? do u think if i get a new better hard drive it will make much of a difference??? becouse my old computer ran faster that this one....and it had same speed in HD.....??? do u think the porocessor is good??? i think its prolly my problem...?

That is a fairly decent CPU. If you are asking if you got a bad chip that is always possible.

SATA II hard drives have a much faster transfer rate than ATA drives even if the RPM is equal the drives are not. I would say you would notice "some" difference. Perhaps up to triple the data rate from ATA 100.

What graphics card are you using? How many Watts is you PSU?

Have you tried any games on it? What exactly about it is slow?

Does the BIOS Setup respond as it should?

Have you run any temperature monitors?

Have you run any hardware diagnostics?

What graphics card are you using? link in other post

How many Watts is you PSU? 600W link in kast post

Have you tried any games on it? What exactly about it is slow? - i have played a game, games run decent... just the start-up, it takes not that much time to start like 45 sec...but then for like 30 min...its slow like i click internet firefox/IE...and it takes like 15-20 secounds to open...and im not running anything else...i mean my laptops are faster...

Does the BIOS Setup respond as it should? - - - Do what?

Have you run any temperature monitors? - - - nope, not sure how or what to download????

Have you run any hardware diagnostics? - - - - nope

You can run the Western Digital diagnostic: (I suggest the boot floppy DOS version):

    http://support.wdc.com/

    You can run MemTest:

    http://www.memtest.org/

    You can run CPU_Z:

    http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

    Speed Fan:

    http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Monitor your Task Manager as well. Clear out start Run... msconfig | startup.

Did you install SP2? You did Clean Install XP on this motherboard?

Did you properly apply the TIM as seen here:

    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=52630

Although rare some CPU's come off the line defective. There is no way to test this short of trying another one of the same make.

Again a SATA II HDD would triple your data transfer rate but you still should not have the issues you speak of.
