yah i wondered the right menu, i found one tho, loaded it on the other comp, ran thru the test and it says that one or more current or worst-case attributes are below threshhold....meaning DOA?

With this information you should be able to get this drive replaced.

ok thank you, i got plenty of things that came up with id's, the value, thresh, worst, and name....but the one that counts i think is the one with a star next to it: 5 re-allocated sector count value:104 thresh: 140 worst: 104 I dont know that i see any error codes though?

never mind, i see that 001-008 are smart errors, which it said also...says to replace drive, Thank you very much!, quick question do you think i could return it to a computer hardware store and they would replace it for me if they had one even though i didn't buy it from them since its the company actually replacing it?

Did you get the drive from Newegg? I see it was OEM which means you might need to contact Newegg rather than Western Digital.

yah i've already done so, created an RMA for it, hopefully the next is better =) cause i love newegg and their service.
