    Confusion

    Hello
I' am in the process of upgrading my PC.
I' m only going to upgrade the motherboard, Processor and graphics card.
These are the ones I had in mind (Links included for motherboard and graphics card):
Processor: Intel Quad core Q6600 (or something along the quad series)
    Motherboard:Asus Blitz Extreme
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 2900 XT Crossfire

However, I' m confused on whether or not the graphics card will work well with the motherboard; it may just be me who has confused chipset's. By the looks of the specifications it will support the graphics card, but does not have an AMD 580X Crossfire Chipset, so does this mean I cannot have 2 graphics card like crossfire enables?
Or does it have this, and its me being clumsy :| I do realize it has crossfire technology, but i don't fully understand.
I suppose the question would sum up to will that motherboard work well with that graphics card?

    Thanks for the help

Note that crossfire only matters if you are you going to use two graphics cards. Are you planning on using two graphics cards? In any case, yes, that board will support Crossfire.

You need to look at your current power supply. Note that graphics card requires the following:
Connection to 550 Watt (750 for CrossFire™) or greater power supply with two 2x3-pin PCIe® power connectors is required.
For enhanced performance with ATI Overdrive™, a power supply with one 2x3-pin and one 2x4-pin PCIe ® power connector is required
I recommend you use the eXtreme PSU Calculator Lite to determine your power requirments. Plug in all the hardware you think you might have in 2 or 3 years (extra drives, bigger or 2nd video card, more RAM, etc.). Be sure to read and heed the notes at the bottom. I recommend you set Capacitor Aging to 30% and if you participate in distributive computing projects, I recommend setting TDP to 100%.
