Do you know the make and model of the motherboard and or computer?

What do you mean that you can't get the old card out?

Are you implying there is more than one graphics card slot? AGP?

If the computer is is circa '98 it might be limited to AGP 2x whereas your new card would be 8x/4x.

Can you boot the computer with the old card? If so you can ID the motherboard with CPU_Z.

There is no old card, it must be on the motherboard. I can delete the old driver, but I can't get it to allow me to do so and get it to recognize the new card.

I'm looking for the motherboard ID. I have to hook this computer up to the internet to use cpu_z. I'm looking inside first. Trying to see where to disable the integrated graphics chip.

Store said it should work in this system.

    Slots
Slots: Total/Available Four/three (or less with options)
Number of PCI Slots: Total/Available Four/three (or less with options)
Number of ISA Slots: Total/Available Zero
Number of PCI/ISA Combo Slots: Total/Available Zero
    AGP slots: Total/Available Zero
Unless that graphics card is PCI then according to the above it won't fit. There is no AGP.

RADEON 9250 128MB PCI Graphics Card SKU: 316086

Should I try different slots? Is there a way to disable/jumper the motherboard graphics and then go from there? 3 open slots, a modem card in the 4th.

You can try different slots. Top is usually best.

Search your BIOS Setup for an option to disable the onboard graphics.

Also I assume you are moving the monitor cable from the board to the card.

TY for your help. LOL I am moving the cable. I didn't on a few attempts and had to kick myself for doing those attempts over. I had been just using the bottom slot. I'll try the top and post when I get a chance. I have to work for the next few days . Bios... I'll look there. Thanks you are a great help.

    Hi Mate,
I hope I am not going out on a limb here, but you know I think that your specs just will not take this kind of upgrade. If this card is stated as a PCI Graphics card, then these sort of cards are going into the reasonbly latest motherboards. Dont know what anyone else thinks about that idea.
    All the best

Luckyjfl, you are confusing PCI with PCI_E.

PCI graphics cards were made for computers that didn't even have AGP let alone PCI_E.

PCI graphics cards fit ordinary PCI slots and as such are very slow. 1x as compared to AGP 2x/4x/8x as compared to PCI_E 16x. The slots for each are completely different and Gr8ape1's board only has PCI.
