    Hard drive

    Help Please if you can???????

I have an ECS P4M800PRO-M (V2.0)mother board with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4300
    1.80 Ghz, 800MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache, Kingston 1GB PC2-4200 533MHz DDR2 memory, a
WD400 WD Caviar Enhanced IDE hard drive 40.0GB, Installed in a RaidMax Ninja (ATX-918WBP) ATX Mid-Tower with a RaidMax ATX12V power 450 W power supply.

The bios finds the hard drive but it is not reading it but after the post nothing I even went as far as repairing windows XP but still nothing happens upon booting up the OS

This hard drive was previously installed on a ECS K7S5A Pro Mainboard with an AMD Athlon processor with 2 KINGSTON 256 MB PC2100 266MHz and it was working just fine.

    Thank you in advance

Just to clarify: you installed this drive as the Primary Master in this new setup? Did you verify the jumper was/is set to Master?

You would need to reinstall XP. If a Repair Install did not work then try a Clean Install.

I did the clean install but now i get this window after the windows Xp home edtion window

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system 32\WINTRUST.dll is not a valid Windows image Please check this against your installation diskette.

And then what happens? Can you bypass this message and start XP?

If not try Safe Mode with Command Prompt and type:

    regsvr32 /u wintrust.dll

    Enter then type:

    regsvr32 wintrust.dll

    and Enter.
