    New HP

Hi, I'm strongly considering buying HP's best laptop, the Pavilion dv9000t. The maximum RAM you can get on it is 2 gigs. This is good, however I want more. Is there any way I can purchase this item and add on 2 more gigs, since you can get Vista 64 bit edition with it? The reason why it has to be an HP is because I get special deals on those. If anyone can help me with this problem, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks

From what I can see the 2GB is the motherboard limit so more cannot be added. I doubt that any more would affect anything on such a machine anyway.

The reason why I need more ram is because I want to play really powerful games that use up a lot of memory.

Well as mentioned that HP won't offer more than 2GB and I'm not sure that any laptop would. After searching I find these results:

    http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...laptop+4gb+ram

The graphics memory would be more crucial to game play and as seen in some of those links anything over 2GB is basically wasted (and expensive).

Getting the highest end graphics card for the laptop you choose would be the best bet.

I have 4GB in my tower and have never seen it approach using half of it at once. Playing Half Life 2 and CS:S etc.

High end games aren't meant to play on laptops in my opinion. BF2142, WOW, NWN gold edition, and Morrowind would play but it was like playin on dialup. And that was just last years model in the laptop pavilion series from HP. I would have to say that a desktop for highend games. The price would actually be cheaper from what I have priced.

yo Jephree, you should try NEWER games. lol. maybe Far Cry or something. those will squeeze everything your mobo has. especially the new RTS game Supreme Commander lol.

playing games on laptops arent really recommended, as laptops usually heat up pretty fast.
