    Re: old pc

when i put in the floppy with smartdrv.exe , there show
searching for Boot Record from floopy..OK
    Remove disk or media
    press any key to restart

i just found that if i change the BIOS setting it will change back and i did save it, is it because there something wrong with the thing within the pc that was install wrong like the hard drive, cpu, or motherbroad?

if you want to put the HD from the non-working PC into a working PC as slave, there should be no problems with this!

providing the HD is working and formatted using a methot compatible with the o/s on the working PC

    (sorry is this is confusing)

No, as long as you are using the correct type of HD (the most common are IDE/ATA, if you can plug it in correctly, you have the correct drive) also, you need to make sure the slave it not at the end of the cable

where it says master/slave selector is your jumper, baisically a piece of metal (usualy coated in plastic) that shorts 2 pins out.

The above image shows where your drives plug in.

those result 1> unable access Hard Drive
    2>invalid system disk
    3> no o/s

you must set the jumper to slave (should be information actually on the drive, the jumper settings vary from drive to drive)

also some HD at the start of checking there CMOS Battery Low

I have never heard of this problem, I will look for ideas

Also i want get a website that have the mostly all HD information .

    Try these:
    http://www.computerhope.com/help/hdd.htm
    http://www.computercraft.com/docs/evstools.shtml

    Hope this helps
