if a pc want to add other ram does it have to be the same type with the pc or i can just add any type.
same with the ram, does the psu need to be the same type as the pc to add it to the pc.

the RAM- this must be the same type (i.e. PC3200 or DDR 333 or whatever), if you get slower RAM, then all the other RAM in your computer will run at that lower speed
the PSU- you need to get the correct connector (20 pin or 24 pin, whichever your motherboard takes) and enough wattage (if you are upgrading to a higher wattage then there should be no problem) apart from that, it doesnt really matter!!
how do i know what type is the ram
here i dont how to look at it and why mine max can only be 768mb , is it because of the motherbroad?

if i buy any ram i can put it in mine pc as long as it lower than 512?
what the max mb that this motherbroad can handle?
That Abit board:
Memory
- Four 184-pin DIMM sockets
- Supports 4 DIMM Dual Channel DDR 400 memory (Max. 4GB)
And no you cannot use any memory. This is one of the most necessary components to check compatibility. There are many different pin types and many different configurations. That is why that Crucial scan is your best bet unless you want to do a lot of research on your own. Most motherboards will list specific compatibility types and offer suggestions as well. Check the manual.
how to check mine pc manufacturer
