I have a Compaq Presario S3150uk. It has a DVD/ROM drive and a CD/RW drive. I want to replace the latter with a DVD/CD/RW drive. I've bought the device (a Sony AW-G170A), and I've read my manual on opening the machine and physically installing the new drive. Will it be a case of unpplugging all the wies/cables from the back of one and replacing them in the new one..... or is it not that simple? I would appreciate any tips on the job before I start it. Thanks.

it IS that simple. and yeah, check the jumper settings. those small pins at the back. they should have a diagram on your harddisk or your DVD/CD/RW drive showing you how to set it.
