In dire need of some help here :(
OKay, first, I am selling my older computer so, I was starting to install XP Pro and bring this computer back to start (clean install). I inserted the disk (XP Pro) and click "new install" things seem normal and it was restarting the computer. Next, thing I get is a blue screen saying things like, use ckdisk to scan the HD for error and restart the computer. At the bottom of the screen I recieved this error code with about of letters and #'s.
Next, I shut the computer and removed one of the sticks of memory to see if one of them is bad. I removed the one in bank1 (I have only 2 slots so I figure second one is bank1 and first is bank0) started the computer and the screen froze on the screen where it counts your memory and it told me 512 installed.
So, I shut down the computer and when I pushed the button to restart nothing happened. Then, I hooked up a new power supply and it did start but froze at the same screen.
Next, I moved the stick of memory to next bank and then, my monitor will not start. Unplug it and hooked it to my new computer and it does work. Hooked it back up to the hold one and nothing. I have no idea what the heck I did??
**note** One of the stick of memory does have on of the gold pin slots missing. Is that stick junk?
Any help I would be apperiated
Thanks

I would think that stick is junk but also is the pin still in the motherboard by any chance? That of course could cause issues as well.

Are you referring to the missing pin off the memory? If so, I will look and let you know.

I looked and double looked with a flash light and didn't see anything in the pins. However, I made a mistake saying that my power supply didn't work anymore. What I did was turn it off by the off switch on the back.
