Want to add a second or third hard drive
Just some noob questions about adding a 2nd and or 3rd hard drive. I have a HP pavilion a810n with 160gig hard drive. Being stuburn about my audio, I do not compress anything. So I have quickly run out of room for more music and family photos. The mobo in the a810 has two SATA hookups, and the 160 gig is PATA. So is it as easy as hooking up two SATA drives to the mobo? Will the mobo see the two additional drives as slaves, or is this not an issue with SATA? Also, With there being no hard drive carrier or cage for the additional hard drives, will these have to be external hard drives or is there aftermarket internal carriers and or rails that would fit in the a810? The 160 gig currently is seated in the front of the pc case standing vertically. If these have to be external, is there a pci card that will have SATA hookups for the drives , or will I be running them by usb and or firewire? Thank you ahead of time to anyone that can help.

You may need to enable the SATA ports in the bios, otherwise just set them to Slave as you would a IDE.
You should be able to buy an additional cage for extra drives, something like this:

Or you could just buy an external USB/Firewire HDD like this:
