please help with gpu/mem core for ati
hello. I have an ati all in wonder 9600. The default core speed is 325MHz, and mem core is 200MHz. I ran the ati overclocking tool and ran the "find max core" for the gpu. It ran the core all the way up from 325MHz to 415MHz. This sbocked me so i opend my case and fealt that the heatsink on the gpu was extremely hot, and the sink was sliding around. I turned off the computer immediatly and checked the card (all is okay).
I am wondering if anyone knows or has heard of a max on both mem and gpu cores for this card that are within the safe margin but pushing it.
Thanks for the input

Is it the 9600 All in Wonder Pro?
I've mostly seen overlocked version such as the XT oc'd.
The above GPU has been oc'd quite safely and repeatedly to 501/350 (700) MHz. Though the memeory was noted as being unstable at higher than default speeds.

the card is the all in wonder 2006 version. it has the 9600 chipset and is the red card with the black heatsink (no fan)
so your saying that i should be able to overclock the gpu to 500MHz or so, but to leave the mem alone?...last night when the gpu got to 425MHz it was crazy hot. i cant imagine it being clocked to 500MHz with out causing some serious damage. but ive heard that gfx cards can and will get much hotter than a cpu, i just thought that the temp was pretty dang hot. is there a way to monitor the temp. ive tried different monitors but i think because i have a dell it prevents the program form registering the temps. and what is the limit temp for the card...thanks again for your help
