hi all....i recently started getting more into using my comp but its just not fast enough for my needs so am thinking of building my own....
At present i do a fair bit of downloading,burning,watching dvd and surfing the internet,i need something to help speed upp these duties and also would a dual core proccesor let me still surf while im burning a disc as present system just cant be used for that.Dont think there is much i can use from this comp(compaq evo d510)so will pretty much be building from scratch and need some suggestions on the specs i should try and get for the speed i need...thanks

if you dont play alot of 3D games then something like this should be good:

MOBO- socket 775
RAM- 2x 512mb
CPU- 2.8GHz / 3GHz
Graphics- 128mb
Optical drive- DVD-RW
Hard drive- 80gig
PSU- at least 300W
case- any standard ATX will do (some of these include PSU's, therefore you will not need to purchase one seperatley)

TOTAL (3GHz)- £321.35 plus PSU, case and delivery

If you give me a price range, i will give you a list of compatible products that fits your needs and price range... the above "system" is just one example of what you could do... you can obviously chose other parts as long as they are all compatible
