My older computer: a Dell Dimension XPST 600r/40 gig hd drv/ Pentium3 600mhz/768 megs RAM. Question: can I safely install XP Pro using the supplied CD with my newer Dell Dimension 5100 on this older computer? Dell says "no"...an Earthlink 'tech' says he's done it on an older computer with less 'zip' than mine and it works fine? Opinions? Any 'reg' issues using this copy of XP on a second computer?

Reason for wanting to do this: these 2 computers are linked using a home networking bridge/router. W98 is a constant problem even tho I recently did a complete, clean re-install of the op system. Thanks.

This is illegal, 1 copy of windows = one instalation, it is not legal to use the same xp product key on two computers.
